The freshly formed Waterford Creative Network brought together a eclectic mix of creatives at its first monthly meeting in March - the creative professions represented were Writer, Photographer/Film Maker, Painter, Visual Artist, Dancer, and Musician. The Waterford Gallery of Art very kindly hosted the event in the middle of the Waterford Cultural Quarter for an encouraging start to this sparkly new venture.

Started by Niamh Ni Chearbhaill, a visual artist and long-time networker, the group will provide opportunities to network, collaborate and gain creative industry knowledge and support. There are three ways to use the network – attend the travelling salon, take part in group projects or join the WCN online network on social media and the WCN website.

The travelling salon will visit the following towns, one each month and ending back in Waterford City: Lismore, Ardmore, Dunmore East, Kilmacthomas, Tallow, Portlaw, Ring, Cappoquin, Tramore, and Dungarvan. The travelling salons are meetings where creatives can share their work and get feedback, listen to speakers, network and share contacts, and get support. The hunt is currently on to find venues, speakers and sponsors for each of these stops with the next one being Lismore.

WCN welcomes all student, emerging or professional creatives; musicians, photographers, film makers, artists, crafters, writers, performers, and more who live or work in Waterford City or County. New members welcome! Contact the WCN here. https://www.instagram.com/waterfordcreativesnetwork/

Request to join the WhatsApp by Contacting Niamh with your mobile number and name.
