The first meeting (March) was at the Waterford Gallery of Art. The turn out was good with a broad range of creatives including photography, film making, writing, painting, drawing, music, dance, visual art and performance. People came for various reasons - to connect with other creatives, to show their work and get feedback, to find out about our community project and to learn more in general about the WCN.
The second meeting (April) was in the Lismore Heritage Centre and while smaller, was rich in conversation, connection and feedback - we had a greenwood woodturner, a painter and 2 visual artists - Everyone shared their work in a safe space where only constructive criticism is given and as a result a lovely conversation resulted. There was a talk on how to write an Artist Bio (as opposed to an Artist Statement) and as it happened two people were in the midst or just after writing one.
The next meeting (May) is in Ardmore community hall and the talk will be on how to use Conceptual Art Processes to enhance or unblock your creative flow regardless of what your creativity is. See more in our event listings.
Hope to see you there !
