Phase 3 Completed of the Prismatic Perspectives Project

Last Saturday, 27 June 2026, all three communities involved in this project came together at St. Joseph's Nursing Home in Ferrybank. A quick reminder: Phase 1 involved recording the memories of residents of the Nursing Home; Phase 2 involved the making of individual artworks based on each story; and Phase 3 involved everyone coming together to see the art works and to create a bond between communities. The table everyone sat at for the event was covered in paper and old images of times long past to trigger memories and chat. The storytellers elaborated and told more stories, the artists (of various ages and backgrounds) listened and drew or wrote down what they heard on the table between images. The room filled with the sound of voices heard and this lovely chaos was recorded.

Phase 4 is where the final group of artists take on the collaborative installation artwork - a large sculptural piece with embedded interactive artworks. The concept behind this piece currently involves the ideas of amorphic memories - differring points of view, making room for those differences, giving them space to exist together and be the richer for it. A metaphor for our communities growing more inclusive.

We are now calling on artists to join us, we have a group of about 6 or 7 people so far. So contact us to join the WCN and be a part of this project. Phase 4 is due to be completed by the first week of October.

We are also looking for sponsorship and a large space to stage and develop the final artwork by the beginning of September.
